Appel à soumissions

Les projets YAR (ANR) et Cais (B-Monde/Agile Cymru) co-organisent une journée d'étude sur l'outillage des langues minorisées, en particulier dans un contexte d'enseignement.

Cette journée aura lieu le 5 mai 2026 en Bretagne, au Technopôle Brest-Iroise à Plouzane, dans les locaux de l'Institut National Polytechnique de Bretagne.

L'objectif de cette journée est d'échanger sur les pratiques d'outillage numérique des enseignant⋅es, des apprenant⋅es et des locuteur⋅ices de langues minorisées ou de variantes « non-standard ». Comment intégrer la multiplicité des variantes à son apprentissage, surtout si on ne les entend pas ou peu autour de soi ? Comment créer des outils avec les personnes qui les utilisent, et de manière adaptée au terrain ? Comment outiller l'enseignement et l'apprentissage de manière pertinente pour toute la communauté parlante ? Quelle éthique pratique pour le traitement automatique des langues minorisées ?

Nous encourageons donc les communications autour des thématiques suivantes (sans s'y limiter nécessairement) :

• la co-construction de projets d'outillage avec les utilisateur⋅ices ;
• l'intégration d'outils de traitement automatique des langues dans le parcours pédagogique d'apprentissage (génération automatique d'exercices, outillage de la transcription pour les apprenant⋅es) ;
• les formules participatives de collecte, archivage et diffusion de ressources à destination des locuteur⋅ices ;
• l'évaluation directe auprès des locuteur⋅ices.

Ne qualifient pas : les travaux qui n'impliquent aucun locuteur⋅ice de la langue concernée et les travaux qui concernent des langues largement outillées.

Inscription

L'évènement est gratuit, mais l'inscription est obligatoire pour des raisons logistiques. L'inscription pour le repas du midi est de 10€ payable par virement à l'INP Bretagne (informations à venir). Pour vous inscrire sans prendre part au repas, merci d'écrire à degemer@yar.bzh avec le sujet “OLMI registration”.

Se rendre au workshop

Le workshop aura lieu à l'ENIB, sur le technopôle de Plouzane, à l'ouest de Brest. La façon la plus rapide de s'y rendre depuis le centre-ville de Brest par les transports en commun est de prendre le bus Bus 2B (environ 40 minutes de trajet depuis l'arrêt “Français libres”).

OLMi est organisé dans le cadre d'une conférence de trois jours :

• Lundi 04/05/2026 Atelier sur les technologies linguistiques pour les langues brittoniques et inauguration d'une plateforme d'évaluation des systèmes d'IA pour le breton et le gallois.
• Mardi 05/05/2026 OLMi
• Mercredi 06/06/2026 Atelier outils pédagogiques (en breton, avec traduction simultanée) et table ronde sur les outils numériques pour le breton.

🐔 OLMi Workshop 2026: call for presentations 🐔

Tools for minority languages: practical solutions for speakers, learners and teachers.

The YAR (ANR) and Cais (B-Monde/Agile Cymru) projects are co-organizing a workshop on tools for minority languages with a focus on teaching contexts.

The workshop will take place on 5 May 2026, in Brittany (France) at Technopôle Brest-Iroise in Plouzane, on the premises of Institut National Polytechnique de Bretagne.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss the digital practices of teachers, learners, and speakers of minoritized languages and “non-standard” variants. How can we integrate the multiplicity of variants into our learning processes? How can we create tools in collaboration with their intended users in a way that is adapted to the sociological context of a given language? How can we equip teaching and learning in a way that is relevant to the entire speaking community? What practical ethics for NLP in minoritized languages?

We welcome proposals on the following (non-exhaustive) topics:

• co-construction of tools with their users;
• integration of NLP tools in learning processes (automatic generation of exercises, transcription tools for learners);
• participatory methods for collecting, archiving, and disseminating resources for speakers;
• processes of direct evaluations by the speakers.

Works that do not involve speakers of the language under focus, and works that concern languages for which tools are already widely available are not eligible.

Registration

The event is free, but registration is required for logistical reasons. The fee for the lunch is 10€, payable by bank transfer to the INP Bretagne (details incoming). To register without the meal, please send an email with the subject line “OLMI registration” to degemer@yar.bzh.

Getting to the event

The event will take place at ENIB in the Plouzane Technopole to the west of Brest. The fastest way to get to ENIB from downtown Brest with public transportations is to take Bus 2B, which takes about 40 min from bus stop “Français libres”.

This workshop on Tools for Minoritized languages is part of a three days conference, comprising:

• Monday 04/05/2026 The Workshop on Brittonic Language Technologies, and the inauguration of a platform for the evaluation of AI systems in Breton and Welsh.
• Tuesday 05/05/2026 OLMi
• Wednesday 06/06/2026 Tools for teaching workshop (held in Breton with translations), and a round table about the digital tools for Breton.
